To Mid-Canterbury, where flood-hit farmers and regional leaders are making their case to the Prime Minister for more support and a second bridge, as she tours through the region. The flooding, in late May, pushed the braided rivers beyond their banks swamping farms, and leaving a trail of stones, silt, muck, and debris. That clean-up continues. Meanwhile, in Ashburton itself, the floodwaters of course damaged the State Highway One bridge. Our reporter Eleisha Foon is at a farm about 10-minutes inland from Ashburton.
