1. Mākara Peak Mountain Bike Park

Mākara Peak Mountain Bike Park has 250 hectares of native bush and more than 40 kilometres of trails that invite you to walk, bike or run to your heart’s content.

2. Remutaka Cycle Trail – Nga Haerenga

Another top spot for avid cyclists and one of the 22 Great Rides of New Zealand, Remutaka Cycle Trail spans an urban landscape, abundant bush, historic railway bridges and wild coastline.

3. Southern Walkway

This top class urban hike experience serves up views of the harbour and central city, takes you through the Town Belt forest and out to the city’s sweet southern bays.

4. Skyline Walkway

The aptly named Skyline Walkway travels along Wellington’s ridge tops through farmland and above the Outer Green Belt offering panoramic views over the region and beyond.

5. Escarpment Track

An impressive example of the power of community, the Escarpment Track takes visitors along a carefully constructed trail that winds and weaves above the vivid sea below.
